This is the third in a series of four masterclasses open to financial services sector members of the gender, race and wellbeing campaigns.
Increasingly, line managers are expected to fulfil a broad and varied set of responsibilities. None is as sensitive, challenging and yet critical as that of supporting the wellbeing of their teams, from contributing to direct reports’ ability to be healthy and happy at work, to handling sensitive conversations around mental health appropriately and with care. Employees are often hard pressed to meet the requirements of demanding, fast paced work environments while also fulfilling personal responsibilities. One in six employees is currently experiencing mental health problems, while the stigma of mental health remains deeply entrenched. Based on research, current data and employer best practice examples, this session provides a forum to discuss how, in a demanding business context, line managers can be empowered to take real steps that promote employee wellbeing.
